Thinking of Selling your U.S. property? You’re not alone

If you’re a Canadian who owns a place in Florida, Arizona, California, or anywhere else down south, you might not be alone in wondering if it’s time to sell. A new survey shows more than half of Canadians with U.S. properties are planning to list in the next year.
Why? Well, the reasons are mixed. According to a recent Royal LePage blog:
- 62% say it’s because of the current political climate in the States.
- 33% point to personal or financial changes.
- 5% blame extreme weather, such as hurricanes, flooding, wildfires, all which seem to be hitting harder every year.
For many, what used to be an easy escape for winter now feels like more hassle than it’s worth. Border rules aren’t as simple, upkeep is expensive, and the stress of managing a second property miles away can outweigh the benefits.
This isn’t just a blip either. Canadians have long been among the top foreign buyers in the U.S., but sales by Canadians are trending down. At the same time, interest in Canadian real estate is growing both from Canadians bringing their money back home, and from Americans looking north when politics heat up.
So, what does this mean if you’re a Canadian thinking about selling your U.S. home? It means you’re not alone, and there’s demand for those properties.

And Here’s where I can help… If you’re ready to sell your U.S. property, I can connect you with a trusted local agent down south to handle the listing. You don’t have to figure out the U.S. system on your own.
I’ll make sure you’re referred to someone who knows your market and can get you results. If you’re planning to reinvest here in Canada, I can help you navigate the local market to make the most of that transition.
The tides are shifting, and Canadians are rethinking how they invest across the border. If selling your U.S. property is on your radar, now might be a great time to start planning.
